Interactive sound maps
These digital maps are created by community members using maps that show the locations of recognizable birds in their territories. People can interact with the maps both visually and aurally, associating the colloquial names of their local birds with their scientific names and then locating them on the map. These interactive maps are a useful tool for identifying questions or problems that need to be resolved within the community regarding their local avifauna, and can be employed to design strategies for community monitoring programs.
